It’s that time again…time for the Scofield Farms Holiday Lights Contest! Light displays will be judged between the dates of Thursday, December 12 and Sunday, December 15 and prizes will be awarded during the week of December 16-20. Three prizes will be awarded this year to the winning homes from the Scofield Main, Park at Scofield, and Withers Way sections of the neighborhood. Each lucky winner will receive a $50 Lowe’s gift card. We look forward to seeing all the beautiful lights as they brighten up the neighborhood! Happy Holidays to all!
Connally PTA Holiday Bazaar – November 23 from 9 am to 3 pm
We are gearing up for this year’s Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the J.B.Connally High School cafeteria. Free Admission.
Come by and shop for the holidays. Find great deals on a wide variety of gifts and fun items, including ornaments, cards, jewelry, handbags, treats, Christmas decorations, toys, gourmet foods, candles, and so much more.
Come and enjoy live performances by Connally student groups, and other local talent. Enjoy your shopping with coffee and yummy breakfast, lunch, and dessert items. There will even be a door prize raffle, for you to try your luck. Admission is free, parking is free and all the proceeds fund student scholarships and other PTA programs.

National Night Out – October 1
Mark your calendars now for our Scofield Farms National Night Out on Tuesday, October 1 from 6 pm to 9 pm. Our event will be one of many neighborhood gatherings all over the Austin area. We’ll have pizza, bounce houses for the children, swimming, and prizes as well as helpful information about security and safety from local law enforcement. The Strictly Business Band will also return this year to play from 7 pm to 9 pm.

Music Event at the Pool with Ethereal Spectrum – Saturday, September 7
Join us for the third of our “Super Saturday at the Pool” events as we welcome the unique sounds of Ethereal Spectrum, an instrumental group led by flutist Sarah Jane Hargis, for a music event on Saturday, September 7 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. This group, formed in Austin in 2009, has a unique sound fusing popular, rock, jazz and electronic music as well as improvisation. They completed their first album in early 2012. Please join your neighbors for a fun night of music! Soft drinks and water will be provided — please bring an appetizer to share. Puppet Show with “Ms.Lisa” Baker – August 31
Join us for the second “Super Saturday at the Pool” event at 10 am on Saturday, August 31. “Ms. Lisa” Baker, who makes her home in Dripping Springs, will share interactive stories (usually involving animals) and funny puppet stories/monologues as well as getting kids and parents involved in active movement songs in between stories to “get their wiggles out”. Lisa has her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, taught for 8 years, and has successfully entertained children and parents at bookstores, schools, churches, libraries, private parties/events, and festivals for the past 17 years here in Austin and in the Hill Country. Don’t miss this fun way to kick off your Labor Day weekend! See you there!
Reptile Show at the Pool – Saturday, July 27
This Saturday July 27, come to the pool from 10-11 am for a visit from Michael Foux and the Austin Reptile Show. He will be presenting his “Reptile Adventure” program featuring a hands-on look at 12 live reptiles from around the world. Mr. Foux has shared his love of reptiles with children of all ages at many schools, libraries and events throughout the Austin area.
A couple of notes:
- Please refrain from eating and drinking during the presentation. We’ll serve refreshments afterward.
- Bring towels and/or blankets for children to sit on.
