We are off to a new and exciting year. I look forward to a wonderful 2014 in our community!

Once again, we are approaching our annual Residential Owners Association (ROA) meeting in May and we anticipate there will be some Board of Directors openings that need to be filled. If you would like to learn more about serving our community as a board member please contact us and we will schedule a time to meet with you and explain the duties of a board member and to answer your questions.

2014 Billing Statements Have Been Mailed

By this time, everyone should have received their monthly HOA dues billing statement for January 2014.  Monthly dues will again be $38.50 in 2014.  Although we no longer offer an early payment discount, it is possible to pay the total yearly amount in January ($462), if desired.  Please see this letter mailed with the statements for additional important information.

Click here for HOA dues payment options.  Regarding dues payment, a few explanatory notes:

  • To pay with credit card through XpressPay on the CMA website, the transaction fee is approximately 3%.
  • To pay with credit card through Community Association Banc – a flat fee of $10 is charged.
  • There is no charge for paying with e-check through Community Association Banc.

As always, please contact Certified Management of Austin at (512)339-6962 with any additional questions.

Letter from the President Fall 2013

Attention Scofield Owners,

On behalf of myself and the Scofield ROA Board of Directors, we wish you and your families a happy and safe holiday season!

The financial situation of our community has changed and we no longer need a large cash infusion at the beginning of the year. We will no longer offer a prepayment discount for paying your entire annual assessment at the beginning of the year.

Please remember that maintaining our cedar privacy fences will help assure that Scofield Farms remains a desirable and attractive place to live.  When replacing fencing, the Architectural Control Committee asks that residents use #1 grade cedar slats that are approximately 3.5 to 4 inches wide to maintain compatibility with existing fences in the neighborhood.  Color and width of the existing fence should be matched.  Any changes in fencing from this standard will require ACC approval.  Also, remember that owners on each side of the fence share a joint duty to maintain, replace and repair the fence so that it remains in good condition.  The ROA management company will work with affected homeowners to enforce fencing standards, if necessary.

Lastly, please be sure to bring your trash and recycle bins in the same day it is picked up.

Thank you,

Paul Maine

President Scofield ROA

Fencecrete Repairs – December 2013 / January 2014

During mid-December 2013 through January 2014, Fencecrete America is scheduled to repair several sections of the concrete fence which borders the neighborhood.  Repairs will include damaged sections of the fence along Dapplegrey Lane, Withers Way, and Bosswood Drive.  Most of the repairs are fairly minor (replacement of panels, etc.).   Areas to be repaired have been marked with bright pink paint along the outward-facing side of the fence.  Fencecrete America has assured us that there will be as little disruption to homeowners as possible; however, if you have questions or issues, please contact Certified Management of Austin at (512) 339-6962.

Holiday Party – Friday, December 20 at 7 pm

Join us at the pool on Friday, December 20 at 7 pm for the Scofield Farms Holiday Party.  We’ll have hot coffee, chocolate, cider and cookies to snack on as well as a the opportunity to take a fun hayride around the neighborhood to check out all of the holiday decorations.  Also, we’ll be collecting new, unwrapped toys for the Austin Police Department Operation Blue Santa program.  Make sure to stop by and share some holiday cheer with us!  See you there!

Holiday Lights Contest – December 12-15

It’s that time again…time for the Scofield Farms Holiday Lights Contest!   Light displays will be judged between the dates of Thursday, December 12 and Sunday, December 15 and prizes will be awarded during the week of December 16-20.   Three prizes will be awarded this year to the winning homes from the Scofield Main, Park at Scofield, and Withers Way sections of the neighborhood.  Each lucky winner will receive a $50 Lowe’s gift card.  We look forward to seeing all the beautiful lights as they brighten up the neighborhood!  Happy Holidays to all!

Pool Closed for the Season

The Scofield Farms pool is now closed for the year.  It will re-open in April 2014.  Also, please take note of an important change for the 2013-14 winter season — the restrooms at the pool are still accessible from 8 am – 8 pm daily with your pool card, even though the pool is closed.  We have added an inner gate to the pool to allow restroom access, yet secure the pool during the winter.   Finally, make sure to check out the recently updated flooring in the pool house!  See you at the pool next spring for more swimming fun!
