Your job will be to get your creative designs and/or inspirational words on your sidewalk or driveway by July 4th. Pool Opening Update

The Scofield Farms ROA Board of Directors voted on Monday, June 15 to provisionally open the pool on June 23, 2020 for the 2020 season. The Board voted to officially file rules with the County which will permit the Board to set and change rules to address health and safety concerns moving forward.

The future pool status is subject to closure based on city, county, state and federal orders. Residents must abide by new temporary rules that have been put into effect for the duration of the COVID situation and the 2020 season. All residents will be required to complete a waiver for their household.

No guests nor parties will be permitted during this season.  Full-time gate monitors will be used to control capacity, remind residents of rule compliance and perform regular surface wipe-downs.  Due to increased COVID related budget impact – the association will be unable to provide life guards during peak times. SWIMMING HAS ALWAYS BEEN AT YOUR OWN RISK for all participants entering the facility.

Pool capacity, under orders from the Governor, must be limited to 50% which for Scofield Farms is 63 persons. Thus there is the possibility you could be refused access due to capacity limits. The Board urges residents to limit their use of the pool to no more than 2 hours per day.

The ROA is increasing janitorial services for restroom cleanings each day the pool is open. Contracted monitors will not only seek to enforce ROA rules but will also regularly wipe down surfaces during their shift.

Showers and changing areas will be closed and marked off with caution tape. Residents should come dressed to swim and plan to change at home.

Please note all new signage on the property and adhere to the requests to maintain a safe and pleasant environment for all persons.

Facility furniture is only available for use by residents AT YOUR OWN RISK. These will not be wiped down nor maintained more than on a weekly basis. Furniture may not be moved during this period.

Each arriving homeowner must sign and complete an updated waiver and acknowledge the risks. A new waiver must be completed each time you visit the pool.

Residents must comply with social distancing practices including use of masks for those over age 10 outside the pool water. Parents must ensure their children do not encroach on other guests.

Any resident who may be at a higher risk with respect to COVID-19 is encouraged to not use the pool center during this pandemic. Any person experiencing or otherwise exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, who has tested positive for COVID-19, or was exposed to someone with COVID-19 within the last 14 days may not enter the pool area. If you have any COVID-19 related questions, the Association recommends you contact the appropriate health officials. USE OF THIS FACILITY IS DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Meet the Candidates

The Board of Directors is comprised of five members with staggering three year terms elected by Scofield Farms homeowners. This year two Board positions will be available for election with three interested candidates running for these positions.
To vote for the candidate of your choice you can: (1) turn in your completed proxy to a current SF board member or send the proxy to CMA at frontdesk@cmaaustin.com; OR (2) attend the Annual Meeting and vote in person.

Judith Daniel
I would like to respectfully submit my name as a candidate for the Scofield Farms Board of Directors. My husband and I moved to Scofield Farms in the summer of 2016. We now have a 3 year old boy and a 1 year old girl. I love this neighborhood and look forward to watching our children grow and thrive in this close community.
I believe my position as a mom with a young family in Scofield Farms will be invaluable to the Board. As more young families move to this neighborhood, they will expect to have representation of their specific needs. I have a strong interest in keeping our neighborhood in line with the increasing house prices, to remain competitive to similar priced neighborhoods, and attractive to the young families that are now moving to the neighborhood.
My professional and volunteer background is directly applicable to a Board position:
· Over ten years of experience in non-profit work, including working in a professional capacity with volunteer Boards.
· Three years at the University of Texas, developing alumni relations and fundraising for the Department of Computer Science. This position required interaction with a variety of alumni and University Directors.
· Experience in fiscal management, creating and maintaining budgets both for individual projects and general fiscal years.
· A background working with volunteer teams to help develop new processes and guidelines – Currently I serve on the Parent Advisory Team at my son’s preschool, as well as on the Executive Board of North Austin Mom’s Club (an extremely active club, which has over 150 members).
I would be excited to serve on the Scofield Farms Board, to help our neighborhood continue to grow and serve the needs of the residents. I appreciate your consideration.

Paul Maine
I have previously served as a board member and board president. I have lived in our neighborhood for more than 20 years. I have a passion for keeping our neighborhood a nice and safe place to live.

Ketan Patel
I have had the honor of serving on the Board of Directors for the past three years (the past two years as Board President) and would appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve the community as a Board member.
My wife and I have lived in Scofield Farms for over 7 years. We have raised our two young boys here and we have grown to love the sense of community around us. We love seeing neighbors out walking dogs, kids riding scooters and bicycles around the neighborhood, and being able to waive a friendly “Hello” to people passing by. I have seen the neighborhood change over the last 7+ years. New friends move in, while old friends move out. Businesses close but are replaced by new ones. This sense of community is what drives me to want to continue helping the neighborhood during the period of growth for the area around Scofield Farms that we are experiencing.
While I have been on the Board, the Board has reached out to our neighboring communities to start dialogues with their Boards and share information. This most recent iteration of the Board has also worked with Architectural Control Committee (ACC) in order to get clarification and updates on several issues that the Board thinks are important for those in our community. I am proud of the channels of communication we have been able to open, but there is still more we can do. And that’s why I want to continue to serve on the Board, to continue to give back to the community that has given to my family.
